Blog2004 ≫ What a surprise!

The vendor of the flat is trying to stiff me yet again! One of the conditions of the sale is that terms of completion is that she will transfer her share of the freehold over to me, it's in the form of a share certificate in her name. Now today her solicitor has admitted to mine that she doesn't have this - she has the certificate, but it's not in her name, so she can't transfer it. At every stage there's been something to hold us up!

Whate we've settled on is that I will hold back some of the purchase price and only pay this over when the certificate is forthcoming... hopefully this isn't too risky, and so long as my money gets there tomorrow (I should have done a telegraphic transfer, and not done it via the medium of the internet), then I can still get the keys on Saturday...
