The Beach Gig AUGUST 2002

The Iv's are a band that formed around June 2002 and, by the sound and style of the band, it won't be long before London beckons. Interestingly enough their singer used to be with the days top of the bill act The Libertines, so at least he knows the London crack. As a band they played a selection of solid rock with a new wave edge. They started off a bit slowly but soon warmed up and by the end of their set were rocking away like good 'uns. They reminded me of a cross between the Undertones and the Count Bishops. (What do you mean you've never of the Count Bishops, their Speedball EP released in 1975 was the missing link between mid 70's pub and punk rock that appeared just a year later. It should be in everyone's collection)
