Barfly Glasgow is OPEN! GET IN!

Barfly Glasgow is OPEN for BUSINESS! Go to 260 Clyde Street, Glasgow and now you have your very own little bit of Camden there... Well sort of. It was the 13th Note, the 13th Note was closing, and there was danger of it not continuing as a music venue, so Barfly (who also run venues in London, Cardiff and Sheffield, and are kissing cousins of popEx) stepped in and the music plays on...

There will be many ace gigs booked, hopefully there will be a big "proper" opening bash (that I will be invited to attend - valued punter and promoter of Barfly Glasgow Craig Wylie are you listening?) but in the mean time, here are their regular club nights...

Fridays is Gigantic, everything that is alt and indie, from the 'Stripes to the Smiths, doors open at 9 and it's free before 10.30...

Saturdays is Freeform, classic soul, funk, 60s beat music and Latin, same times and free-ness as Fridays...

Sundays is Teen Spirit, all things RAWK, different tunes on the different floors, and Jack Daniels and Coke is only 1.20...

I'm sure full listings will be up on barflyclub.com any minute now... Hey, did you know Travis were signed after being spotted at Barfly? Who says you don't learn anything from press releases...

This content originally from my very popular (in the late '90s) website popex.com. Parts were contributed by valued punters, but mainly originally created by me. I replicated this content here when the website eventually closed down at the start of the '00s. Hope this brings back memories (assuming you find it).
