Diesel U-Music 2002 - the nationwide search for new music talent - starts this month with aspiring young bands, DJs and producers invited to enter their demos...
The event opens on Monday 12th November, when entrants can submit their demos to: Diesel U-Music at 55 Argyle Street, London WC1 8EF. Closing date is Saturday 2nd February 2002. The entries will be divided into six distinct categories, each hosted by independent record companies and media partners... I can't make out this complex category flowchart, but at least one bit of it is sponsored by Barfly.
The winners will be announced six weeks before the Diesel U-Music Award ceremony, scheduled for May 2002. Among the prizes are the latest DJ equipment, studio time, photo sessions and professional production. Winners will also be featured on a Diesel U-Music compilation album and CD covermounts.
Entries should be all original material and no more than six minutes in duration per track, with a maximum of three tracks. Only Scratch DJ tracks can be longer than the stipulated six minutes. The accepted formats are Mini-Disc, DAT or CD and must be accompanied by a 100-word biography and, where possible, photograph of the entrant.
