Somewhere, somewhere in a field in Surrey...
I went to Guildford Festival on Friday - it's a bit small innit? But it was alright, shame it wasn't a bit hotter on the Friday evening.
We saw Tindersticks (who were exactly like I expected) and Pulp, who were a bit better - they started with that odd version of Common People, then did a mix of the last couple of albums and a couple of tracks from the new one, and then we had to leave to be sure of getting a train...
We got Sorted for E's and Whizz (the song) really early in the set, with the words really unpredictably changed - this time to "somewhere in a field in Guildford" - so either Jarv couldn't remember what county he was in, or it was something to do with the rhythm and meter of the song...
Probably they saved all the ace His'n'Hers and Intro stuff for the end of the set. Still we had a beer or two, and a very nice evening...
Nice to see Valued Punter Mr (and Mrs) Meanie too, who I hope enjoyed it as much as we did...
Was that The Longpigs' Richard Hawley playing guitar with Pulp?
