The Bluetones last night (at Sound in Leicester Square) were good enough to make me forget about their recent racist remarks furore, which must be an achievement. They played a mix of old and new, a few tracks of each album, but concentrating on the forthcoming "Science and Nature". The only one of the new songs that really grabbed was Mudslide, which I think was because it was the first song they played with a double bass, which just looked and sounded cool.

They tried to stir the audience up into demanding an encore, which just didn't work, so ending the gig on a bit of an embarrassing note, but HEY that's rock and roll.
