There were only two Clarke's that went to the USA, Charles Valentine Clarke and his wife Ada Maria Clarke (nee Winfield). Charles was lost in the sinking of the Titanic and his wife returned to England soon after.

The sister they refer to is Ada Mary West but, her maiden name was WORTH, so as Ada Maria Clarke's maiden was WINFIELD this cannot be correct.
