KISS plus Rage Against The Machine, Skunk Anansie, Thunder and Three Colours Red and L7. Got freebies from the NME and drank all the money I saved. Kind of lost it about five songs in and ended up in Covent Garden.
Finsbury Park
Guns n' Roses Izzy Stradlin's last ever show. Support Nine Inch Nails and Skid Row - Sebastian Bach swore too much and got them barred for life.
Wembley Stadium
Blur Reading warmup, got very drunk on vodka red bulls, fell in a bush, and you can see me on the South Bank Show Special that was filmed there. Off to Reading the next day.
Goldsmiths College
Queen Only Brian May and Roger Taylor, with Paul Rodgers on vocals, no John Deacon.
Brixton Academy
Super Furry Animals Soho Live with Mansun and Fun Lovin' Criminals. I met Noel Gallagher at this show.
Mean Fiddler
The Darkness I dragged Neil and Camilla, of The Face and Popbitch along. IT WAS ME THAT MADE THE DARKNESS POPLIAR!
Bull and Gate
The Tears plus The Subways. First official gig for Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler's new band, though they went and did a couple of sneaky warmups before this in Oxford and somewhere else. Not that great really.
Heaven
Reading Festival 1999 Blur headlined, not a very strong lineup I don't think. I was working mostly, and managed to lose my first mobile phone that work lent me.
Reading Festival
Monsters of Rock AC/DC, Metallica, Motley Crue, Queensryche, and the Black Crowes. A pretty special line up at the top of the bill, shame it was the shortest Donington bill ever. Got a coach up from Portsmouth. m/
Castle Donington
Travis With Starsailor and Ryan Adams and I think Remy Zero. A Warchild benefit night, I quite literally have the t-shirt for this one mate.
Astoria
Madonna Plus Hue & Cry and The Bhundu Boys, but not the rumoured Wet Wet Wet. My first concert, went with a friend from school and some friends of his dad. Sounds a bit weird now. Got the t-shirt, programme, every bit of junk going...
Wembley Stadium
The Tears Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler, weren't they in a band together before? One of the NME gigs, support included The Magic Numbers I think but we stayed in the pub and missed them all.
Astoria
Stephen Malkmus and Graham Coxon and Super Furry Animals and more
Royal Festival Hall
Belle & Sebastian Karaoke as a warm up act? Or was it Franz Ferdinand? We went in late and missed all that, but a friend of a friend did get up and sing Lazy Line Painter Jane with the band.

The Scala
Ash Went to an aftershow for this at Mass, also in Brixton, there was free absinthe and things, it got a bit messy.
Brixton Academy
The Avalanches Went with an old workmate, got drunk before the gig and I think I went home as soon as the band came on.

Electric Ballroom
The Beta Band NME Brats show, lovely write up: [quote]Flash forward a few years to the Beta Band in January 2000, at an NME Brats show. I don't really remember much, other than that I was with a big group of my gigging mates in the upstairs bit, we were all trolleyed o

Shepherds Bush Empire

Reading Alleycat
David Devant and his Spirit Wife My favourite band of the time, one of my few visits to Kent "before".
Tunbridge Wells Forum
David Devant and his Spirit Wife A great gig, just round the corner from where I was living. Cheap booze and accompanying art exhibition.
