The Fall A benefit gig for a journalist Leo Finlay, with Ash and possibly Tiger and Formula 1. Matt Lucas was there. Possibly Travis also played... Mean Fiddler
The Tears plus The Subways. First official gig for Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler's new band, though they went and did a couple of sneaky warmups before this in Oxford and somewhere else. Not that great really. Heaven
Suede Fan club gig, played the new album, then a hits set, then a "wheel of fortune" set including best songs "My Dark Star" and "The Living Dead"... Electric Ballroom
Love / Hate Plus my first time (of many) of seeing Atom Seed, and a couple of other bands. Happy new year! The Marquee
Ash Midday show, Japanese TV recording, news here. Mean Fiddler
Comedy Ed Byrne and Rob Newman Walpole Park
Steve Coogan Fairly bland sets of Tony Ferrino and possibly Alan Partridge, but warm up came from newcomer Simon Pegg. Whatever happened to him? The Lyceum Theatre
Baddiel and Newman Portsmouth Guildhall
David Devant and his Spirit Wife Before I lived in New Cross, didn't really know where it was. We thought we could get a tube there (it was not running) and walked back to Waterloo after... New Cross Venue
The Dirty Pretty Things Carl Barat of The Libertines, and his new band, they're very good... Plus Hot Club de Paris and Mando Diao. Hey, we went to this one! Leas Cliff Hall
