We're having one of our "fun days" at work, got a team music quiz going on throughout the day, we're playing Buzz! The Music Quiz. And we're through to the semi finals!

UPDATE: And we won! Heard a rumour part way through that the odds-on favourite had pulled out, but no, we met them and two other teams in the final, but we kind of walked it. The top twelve CD's and three bottles of cava for the winners, I ended up with Led Zeppelin, Chris Rea, Andrea Bocelli, and Leona Lewis. I'm off to Woolworths tomorrow with the old "I lost my receipt"...

Lots of things I want to mention before I get bogged down in work and trying to leave early. Smooth journey in today, did some bluetoothing on the bus in, nothing sinister though, just getting the pictures off my phone on to my . Hoping to use WIFI to post them up to here, but while there are now SIX wireless networks visible from my office, none of them are open.

Listening to 's Frances The Mute, a massive prog rock concept album from the guys who used to be part of ... it's like meets on a jazz odessey. Done some tweaking of the board / blog software so searches for band names might pop up some gig links along with previous mentions of the band... still work to do on that. I could hard code some stuff along the lines of "if there are tickets on sale, link to them first" and so on, but I'm pretentiously working on a more holistic approach to things - I code something that feels right and then see what the results are. Let's also give a big up to (new single available now on aol.com, tickets on sale Monday), and , have a listen.

Various evils and various work related things, no evil work related things though... Just about ready to go on the relaunch of www.barflyclub.com, at last, this has been hanging around so long, there are so many people involved... even at this stage people are saying "you should have done this instead", but just where were they in the consultation stage. It's good in a way, as it'll mean lots of ongoing work. We're doing a bit of an audit of all the money earned by all the things I do, and apparently it's looking quite positive and profitable, that's good. Unfortunately is not very well right now, disk error I think, hopefully restarting it will sort things out.

Couple of work related musical things now, just listening to Led Zeppelin's Greatest Hits, there's a track on there I'm not terribly familiar with, "Trampled Under Foot" but chunks of it are the DEAD SPIT of Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out... track it down and listen to it now! It's work related as one of our companies manages the band (FF, not LZ).

Now to the evils, London is not a nice place at all I can tell you... a mate had his flat turned over last week, and while most of his stuff was stolen a few nice things were left behind, but deliberately smashed. What's that all about? Then yesterday our flatmate was robbed - while she was in a pub someone took her purse, took the notes, cards and pound coins (but not the change) out, then put the purse back in her bag... why not just take the purse and run? Nothing else was taken from the too, it's a very bizarre tale.

Neither of these really compare to 's situation, he had had guns pulled on him this week, in daylight... read all about it...
