It was Charles Valentine Clarke died on the Titanic

Here's Charles Clarke, his wife Ada Maria Clarke (nee Winfield) survived the sinking. Charles was born February 14th (hence the middle name) 1883 in Cosham, Hants. His paternal grandparents were James Cole Clarke (1824 - 1865) and Sarah Tribe (1824 - 1887), they're my great great grandparents.

Starting to sound like there might be a connection, we don't have a great deal on the Tribes. Do you have any more dates and places of birth on any of your ancestors? Could be just a coincidence though, the only connection we have between and is that they're each grandparents of my paternal grandfather Ronald Leslie Clarke.

Our Tribe

Hi Stuart, not sure if there's a connection with our lot or not - the only Tribes we have are Sarah Tribe my Great Great Grandmother, born 1824 who married James Cole Clarke. Her father Thomas Tribe (probably born in the 1790 / 1800s) could have had more children, we don't know for sure, though the area seems about right. I've passed this on to my dad, who is the genealogist (I just update the website), maybe he knows more. Would be great to find out if there's a connection or not. So you have no info further back than ?

There have been other Tribes in the area posting on our forum, search for Sarah Tribe here. Might be some lines to follow up there...
