Leaving finger prints behind at a burglary - BAD

Sep 18

Leaving a finger behind - VERY BAD

A burglar has left behind a severed finger when he broke into a builder's yard, police said.

The would-be thief is believed to have sliced off the digit on razor wire as he climbed into the Elliotts Builders Merchants in Newgate Lane, Fareham, Hampshire.

It is the second time the premises have been raided this week - hundreds of pounds worth of goods were stolen in the earlier raid.

RE: clarke family

Hi!

My main reason for being here is that I was doing one of my casual nostalia searches for the 'old' family and family business when an interesting result on Elliott came up. What caught my attention was the first name of Elliott concerned as it was similar to my father's. He was called Raymond Ethelbert Warnford Elliott and lived in Aldershot along with his sister, May, and two brothers, Bob and Jack. I also had an Auntie Amy. This sounds quite a coincidence and as I've just considering researching the family tree I couldn't pass this by!

If anyone would like further info or can tell me more please contact me. As I said, I'm only at the very begining and info I have is quite limited.

Look forward to hearing from you

Best wishes

Peter

The Clarke family tree and the Mahon family tree are now linked, since Clare and I got married on the 12th August... tree pages still to be updated!

Please note really important if you're looking at this page for Clare you'll see there's not much family info in there for her. This is because this is where Dad's family tree info runs out - you want to head on into Clare's own family tree page to carry on. The same applies for her dad James Mahon and her mother Pauline Margaret Elliott, they also have pages here and here. Cheers!

Also note, there are Clarkes on both sides, not related as far as we know though (except now by marriage).

my grandmother frances amy elliott (nee clarke) married a ethelbert samuel gerald elliott from Aldershot in Hampshire. Frances Amy Clarke was born 11th November 1892 and died in Frimley Park Hospital on 4th September 1988. I have been trying to source her sisters and parents around the Leamington Spa area or even Warwick area.

Manic Tuesday

Dec 7

Had a long weekend in Folkestone, but I have returned to chaos... popex.com, record-producers.com, channelfly.com and other work sites all down... not big issues to fix, but annoying... one of them the power lead had fallen out the back. barflyclub.com came back with the clock set wrong, which triggered a big email job on the wrong day, which is not so good.

Getting lots of comment spam and referer spam on here now, not a big problem either but a bit annoying. Blocking people from posting left right and center. So look out! There's something called crawling and apparently farming email addresses, so look out for it.

Right so the weekend, a very tasty luxury to have that extra day off. Started off with a fairly quiet Friday night, just one drink in Wards so as to show someone it was as quiet as we'd said, then back for a great takeaway from the Cheriton Balti. We need a microwave soon really, or to bring my platewarmer down from London (good idea for xmas) our huge platters got a bit cold before we could finish things.

Saturday was Clare's Dad's birthday, we saw him, then went around Folkestone town centre, then headed off to the fairly average Watersedge in Hythe for a night of beer and pool. Had problems with taxis too, funny sort of a night, I think we ended up back in Cheriton. Plenty of booze was had by all...

Sunday was the night of the Chambers Quiz so we thought, but no, it's been put on hold until Christmas night, so it's fairly unlikely we'll be along there to defend our title, fun though it might be... in the end we made our own quiz, and took it along to The Clifton, and Clare scooped the prize. Seems now Chambers *will* be open , some sort of indie-disco affair, we'll have to see. Don't think any of the rest of our party would be keen to go there.

Monday we went to Canterbury, did a lot of shopping, best thing we bought was a HUGE wine glass, it's real glass and about a metre tall... we've filled it up with baubles and fairy lights, and we're going to put our presents under that instead of a tree.
