I forget the point of Jaiku, it was one of those Web2.0 startups that did the social networking thing, a bit Facebook, a lot Twitter (but better), for updating people who don't care with exactly what you're up to minute by minute... they were the first one I saw that let you do it all automatically, wihtout ever having to return to the site, so while I've not been back to jaiku.com since I first signed up (oh yeah, I signed up anyway) my page there is fully up to date with every blog post, every track I've listened to, and every gig in Folkestone that I've listed on FG without actually going to or knowing much about. Here's Jaiku's announcement:
While its too soon to comment on specific plans, we look forward to working with our new friends at Google over the coming months to expand in ways we hope you'll find interesting and useful. Our engineers are excited to be working together and enthusiastic developers lead to great innovation. We look forward to accomplishing great things together.
In order to focus on innovation instead of scaling, we have decided to close new user sign-ups for now. But fear not! All our Jaiku services will stay running the way you are used to and you will continue to be able to invite your friends to Jaiku.
We have put together a quick Q&A about the acquisition at jaiku.com/help/google
Jyri Engestrom and Petteri Koponen, Jaiku Founders
Not sure who else that I know is signed up, I only know of Kosso, Ro and Rob who all signed up at the same time as me. I guess now this will start to be incorporated into gmail or something that'll encourage me to use it. Maybe.

Tupelo, Mississippi
In concert on Tue, 24 June. American Hi-Fi and Sugar Ray opened. Mark McGrath ran thru the audience and stopped 2 feet in front of us. Then ran few feet away and chose a kid in audience to sing with him. He ran back to stage and made a cardboard Elvis take a drink and a bow. Very good show from Matchbox Twenty and Sugar Ray.
