I suspect not this year, as we have a lot on in June anyway, but if we were we'd have to register in advance... Weird. Will it beat the touts? I doubt it, unless all the artists' guests have to register in the same way, just as far in advance.
Who will the headliners be too? I heard via the medium of www.popbitch.com that it would be Arctic Monkeys, Bjork and "the biggest band in the world that are not U2 or Coldplay"... now this is clearly part of the regular rumour bullshit, even if it did originally come from anyone connected with the festival, like Michael Eavis himself (and I don't know where the quote came from, and I might have got U2 wrong, it might have been REM). For a start, it supposes that Coldplay are one of the three biggest bands in the world. I suspect it's just the start of the annual rumour that this year, the Rolling Stones will play. And they won't. I bet it's someone like Muse headlining.
More frivolous festival excitement from the official registration page, which you have to provide a photo for:
What kind of photos are acceptable?
* Head and shoulders photo, must be recent, clear, in sharp focus, with your entire face visible
* Please ensure you have a neutral expression with your mouth closed and eyes open, looking directly at the camera
* Please do not wear hats or anything that covers your face and be free of glare from glasses etc
* Must be taken against a plain and light background
* Please ensure your photo is correct, as you will not be able to modify it once registered
* Image file must be less than 400kb in size and in JPEG format.
* Your image will be resized to the correct dimensions automatically, however you must crop it yourself.
* Any applications that do not include a suitable photo will not be accepted
Some of that sounds like good advice for the festival itself - no stupid hats, eyes forward, no smiling, conform, consume, etc. Glastonbury's changed a lot, even since I first went.
BUSY with this new job, really enjoying it, a great place to work. More to report, maybe at the weekend.
UPDATE: efestivals has it that it's The Who.

According to the weather forecast this will be the best day of the week. And it's horrible, that's why I'm messing about on the computer and not getting ready to go to our new office in Farringdon... Actually with it being closer and me not having a key or security code, it doesn't make sense for me to go in early. Plenty to do when I get there though, maybe just one more cup of tea...
Ace weekend, a good combo of boozing and snoozing and eating plenty. I celebrated removing a kitchen cupboard so that our new fridge would fit in, quite pleased with that, makes the kitchen bigger and nearly complete, so I celebrated by having two fried breakfasts and a curry. The fry-ups were cooked in the Trangia, which I've not used for years, so it's nice to bring it out of semi retirement. Cooked on the hob, but using the trangia pans, not crouched over a burning pot of meths like a mad tramp. Slightly overdid things on Friday night, resulting in much spewing, like one of those Olson twins I was. Paid myself back by trying to do do all the things Clare would remind me to do if she was there, like eat fruit and healthy things. Then undid the good work with a night out in The Guildhall... also sure we saw Jo Brand in the New Delhi, though it doesn't seem likely.
Glad to discover that Beer Festival is back on for next weekend so I hope to be there every day of the bank holiday... we'll see.
Folkestone property prices are surely not falling now, the flat next door to us has sold after being marketed for about a month, the one the same size as ours is still available. If I had the money I'd like to buy it and knock through, make a super flat...

Starting to take this personally now, another flat in our building is now on the market, this one is the same size as ours, also being on the third floor, it should be a mirror image of ours. Nice to see it's a bit more than we paid, but then it does have an en-suite. Have a look round.
6c is still up for sale, this is the very smart one we viewed a few times, but decided against spending that much... since then the price has been put up by FIFTY THOUSAND POUNDS, it's surprisingly not been snapped up though.
