Folkestone on popbitch

Your actual Cheryl Baker out of Bucks Fizz (and thinning hair advertisements) being accosted by a horde of very drunk 40-something Folkestone slappers on their way home from the Scissor Sisters gig in Trafalgar Square. She was utterly charming to them, posed for photos, put up with their rambling ‘80’s reminiscences, guard-defying smoking, mobile phones playing out Snow Patrol on speakerphone etc. And got off at Sevenoaks with her friends. One of the more battle-scarred ladies got off with a likely lad from Dover whose technique included the classic exchange: "43 are you? Well I’d still do yer up the arse" "Oooh don’t you be so rude, young man" "Oh, sorry, I thought you said you was from Folkestone..." Cheryl laughed.

Google trends an t'ing

Google Trends is live today, this is their live, interactive and searchable version of Google Zeitgeist - see how often people have searched for what you're searching for, over time and that. See Google trends for Folkestone, hmm that's more or less a flat line. See a more clearly defined trend for The Darkness, bit of a slide there, and for something more newsworth see hurricanes in the news.

Also Google Co-op is go today, this is about tagging pages I think, to allow for more accurate searching. Won't everyone just use it to tag their own pages innacurately in an attempt to spam things? Looks a bit complex so far.

Also, happy birthday popbitch, it's their 300th issue today.

No-one told me Stokey would be like this

Working from home again today, and there's someone playing Metallica out in the back garden (downstairs or next door), what's that all about? I don't want to put my stereo on as it'll look like I'm competing with them. I thought it was all new agey round here, not metal? Also I was going to put on some Belle and Sebastian, but that will sound really weedy by comparison... hmm, it was something weedy off the Black Album, but now it's BATTERY, ace.

We went to The Defoe, and also Testis last night, an Anatolian restaurant on Stoke Newington High Street that we've been to before. They serve lambs testicles in there, though I went for the stuff aubergine.
