Ricky Gervais in Folkestone

I think this is at the Battle of Britain memorial in Capel. One of the sketches for The 11 O'Clock Show that he regrets not doing under a character name like Billy Bigot I assume.

In Politics, Gervais's teenage enthusiasm for activism kicks off a series of digs at liberal sacred cows - from accusing the disabled of being lazy to mocking anti-war songs and sloganeering T-shirts. Could it ruffle feathers? "I think that most people know it's a persona," he says. "I don't really think the disabled are lazy, but I like walking that line. I could give the character a name - like Billy Bigot - but that's not interesting.

Being a dolphin is not easy these days, everyone's after us and the fishermen catch more and more of our fish each day, it's hard to make ends meet.

I've just had a huge council tax bill too, even though it's my second home' so as well as my website www.sandgatedolphin.co.uk I've decided to open a little shop on ebay to sell a few souvenirs of my visit.

If you promise to buy enough of them I will try to stay a bit longer and maybe even come back next summer (Don't forget I haven't gone yet!).

I've got Tee Shirts with pictures of me on them and some pictures of me swimming about in your lovely clean sea (I am so pleased you've stopped putting all your poo in here).

You can get to the shop by clicking here

You can pay using those card things on Paypal and my Friend Simon will see that you get the goods, us Dolphins can't get to the post office.

See You at the Beach

Many Thanks

Dave

Must Destroy Barfly!

It's Must Destroy night on Friday!

This Friday three of Must Destroy's bands are playing The Barfly, Camden, That London, here's what they have to say about them:

:: Croydon's premier 9-piece rock / pop / soul freakoutfit. Words alone fail to describe the full DMBT experience, but if we were to try, it would go something like: "'Bat Out Of Hell' played by Funkadelic meets Turbonegro covering Steely Dan's 'Aja' meets Jellyfish's 'Spilt Milk' performed by Queens Of The Stoneage". with The Misfits thrown in for good luck. or something.

:: All the way from the Mersey delta come our lovely Tramp Attack lads. They'll be bringing their van full of smashin' skiffletastic pop nuggets with 'em, andperforming tracks from their debut long-player - entitled 'Attack! Attack!! Attack!!!' - such as the fantastic new single '1471' (out in stores THIS WEEK, kids. go buy one...).

:: goddamit kids, you NEED more Sludgefeast in your life. Primo, lo-fi, fuzzed-out-of-its-mind rock'n'f**ckin'roll (and i mean rock'n'roll as it used to be.. scare yer mum, loud-assed rock'n'roll. not namby-pamby indie fops wearing vintage Harley shirts to try look tough but sounding like Britpop left in the fridge too long) that brings to mind the testosterone-fuelled rock power of W.A.S.P meets the overdriven, fuzzy as all hell, Jetrock sounds of the mighty Guitar Wolf.

Get tickets here or here and support popex, or see www.barflyclub.com and get tickets there too!
