I've seen a real promo, and it's GOLD...
A friend has a real promo of The Darkness' debut album Permission To Land and it's SOLID GOLD. Ah no, but it's in a gold sleeve... as a mere webmonkey I am not allowed a copy yet, but hopefully won't have to wait until it's actually out on July 7 through Must Destroy Music / Mushroom Records.
Says frontman Justin of the album; “Permission To Land is less of a request
to moor the good ship Darkness, rather a demand to shift the rest of the
shite cluttering up Rock's runway”.
“For many moons, we have been bracing ourselves for a shift in the public's
perception of The Darkness from underdogs to world-beaters. Our debut album
will undoubtably be a catalyst for this transition. About fucking time,
too!”
The band also hit the Festival circuit throughout the summer catch them at Isle of Wight, T-In-The-Park and Reading, Reading and Leeds
Festivals as well as supporting Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrd on their Arena
tour and Metallica in Dublin...

Lowfinger and Mo' Solid Gold bought their way onto PopEx this week, by sending in STUFF! Not just their own stuff, but other bands stuff too! This means there actual prizes in the prize drawer!
No prizes for being top of the charts still, as I don't trust those charts as far as I can throw them, but very soon it will all be cleaned up - to compensate you, have a competition
Other bands added this week, in acrobatical order, are: Alice Deejay, Bent, Janet Jackson, Paul Van Dyk, Savage Garden, Shanks and Bigfoot, Sona Fariq, Wonderstuff and Wyclef Jean...
It takes more than just bribes to get on board though, so if you're not sure, mail me, and I will say "GO AWAY WITH YOUR RUBBISH STUDENT RACKET".

They're all actors aren't they, this "biggest hoax on tv ever" is going to turn out to be a hoax on the audience surely. I really wanted to lay into this, but I didn't see enough before we got bored and put some Frasier on instead. I will look in again, but I find it hard enough to believe this group could be convinced they'd gone to Russia, let alone to space.
Oof, Air Marshalls shoot dead a mental on a plane, and it's in Miami.
To cheer us all up again, how about a solid gold xbox 360 faceplate?
