What a great day to start commuting again. Back on the five past midnight train into work this morning (ok, five past seven), and in my semi conscious repose I became more or less aware that the train was at a standstill, somewhere in mid kent. The train in front of us had only hit A TREE, how did that happen? Must have been the monster wind we've had, blew some fairly hefty foliage onto the tracks, which caused the preceding engine some difficulty. The guard on our train told us the other train had "lost two shoes", which I thoguht was train slang for having a couple of it's wheels broken off, but it's actually the brushes that touch the live rail and provide power. A team came out from Ashford and fixed it up, and I was only an hour and a half late in the end.
So, late into work, and lots of changes to be made before the Malice Box Quest game actually goes properly live on Monday, so no time to blog from work today. No time even to mention last night's exciting Relocation, Relocation. Not only did they almost consider looking at properties in Folkestone, but the relocater was called Paul Clarke. I wonder if anyone saw that and thought it was me? It wasn't, I wish I had 650k to spend on a house.

Good to see Folkestone on TV, on Relocation, Relocation last night... more in the Folkestone Forum... Wednesday night's a great night for TV, with that, Grand Designs, and Desperate Housewives. We're getting Sky+ installed today, though I don't know when we'll have time to watch any more. Getting a new carpet in today too, it's all go.
Someone in our building is having a laugh, there's a "Vote CONSERVATIVE" sign appeared in the front garden. Pretty sure that's against the terms of the lease.
Good journey in today, still a few minutes late though because of tube probs. Got one of my little commuting challenges RIGHT, in wearing the right jacket - it's hard to guess what will be good clothing for the day in London based on the weather when we wake up by the coast. Also made my tea, and brought my tea with me, this is good, and as usual we got our pick of the tables on the train. Got everything else wrong though, forgot my phone, forgot to charge my IPOD, and put on a jumper that I thought was clean and fresh, and it turns out to have bean juice on it. That's what you get for not being properly unpacked yet, and getting dressed in the dark...

Good to see Folkestone not only feature on Channel 4's Relocation, Relocation last night, but also being the outright winner! What a great house. Shame they didn't have time to give as much blurb about Folkestone as they did about Deal and Ramsgate. Also a shame the guy's not commuting into London. I commute into London, it's not that bad!
The winning property was a five bed Victorian townhouse, on with Fell Reynolds for 595k, which they got for 518k! Not bad! Can't find it online, but it was called the "Manor House" somewhere, so guessing it's on Manor Road...
