One eyed man

I saw an actor I recognised yesterday, round the back of the Covent Garden Opera House, though I can't remember his name or what he's been in - a household name then, I'm sure. I think he's been in Inspector Morse and also The New Statesman among a huge number of other shows, he's a proper English character actor, in his 50s.
Nope, no idea.
He was leading a very old man by the arm.
