Phoenix, tonight

Phoenix play tonight at the Mean Fiddler (pah, it were the LA2 in my day), with support from Turin Brakes...

Phoenix are ace, just listening to the "United" album now... a lot of it has a soft MOR feel, like Hall and Oates or something, but it's hard to tell if they're being serious or not.

One interesting point is how many snippets of other songs you imagine you hear - There's lots of Ben Folds Five, then also Eels (intro to "Summer Days" IS "Susan's House"), Supergrass ("Party Time"), and there's Super Furry Animals' "Demons" in there too...
