BASE! How Low Can You Go...
Jan18Riverside Studios tv studio tv riverside studios toploader alishas attic orbital :: [comment] :: [delete] Well last night I went all the way down Queen Caroline St, to Riverside Studios, ex home of TFI Friday to see the filming of Carlton's new music TV show "The Base"...
A bit of a rarity for music TV, it's featuring live bands playing live, so obviously it will be consigned to the graveyard slot by schedulers - you can't have too much miming on TV I think.
Orbital played a few new tracks as did the spankingly gorgeous Alisha's Attic, but the crowd (apart from their own loony stalkers, a must for all female artists) were a bit reserved... The explanation became apparent - they were all TOPLOADER fans, bussed in to go spontaneously crazy when their big-haired faves hit the stage. Naturally, we made our excuses and left.
Also appearing on the series will be Shivaree and the mighty Muse... stay tuned for more programme info...
Thanks to valued punter Mighty Matt for sorting it out.
Very strong and very chilling start to this week's five-night drama special: alien attack never felt so scary or so compelling. John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd star.

Here's hoping the venerable quiz is back on the straight and narrow after the debacle about contestant eligibility last time. Jeremy Paxman is once again in the questionmaster's chair.
Giles Coren and Sue Perkins get silly in powdered wigs in a daft romp through the French Revolution as Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
Russell Crowe gets a rare chance to test his comic mettle and produces a good-natured performance as a city trader who inherits a vineyard in Provence.
