I've heard that The Ramones wrote I Wanna Be Sedated backstage at a venue in Canterbury (can't remember which one) and that Judge Dread literally died on stage at the Penny Theatre
and Bro concurs
The Ramones played the Canterbury Odeon. And Judge Dread died in hospital after collapsing on stage at the Penny
I love The Ramones, and didn't take my last good option to see them at Brixton Academy as I thought it would be a bit of a shit old punk affair. Ah well! Off to investigate these dates...

On the same day, March 30th (though maybe a few years apart), Thomas Cranmer became archbishop of Canterbury, and The Ramones played their first ever gig.
Still not found when they played Canterbury Odeon.
