The Globe pub bar booze real ale restaurant food darts :: [comment] :: [delete]

"Today is the most extraordinary day ever in radio. Every commercial station in the UK is broadcasting UK Radio Aid - a day of very special guests, presenters and activity to raise money for the Tsunami appeal. You'll never hear anything like it again"

I hope not, how much do I have to give to be sure? just finished and now it's time for !

Good weekend, paid the scaffolder, the fireplace is being fitted this week... made an attempt to go to a recommended curry house on , but after walking all the way there on a particularly freezing Friday night, it was shut. Noticed and were both deserted too, not a good time of year for restaurants I suppose. Called in for one (it was heaving) then home for a particularly good takeaway delivery from .

Saturday went somewhere different, in ... quiet pub, but nice. It's a with two small bars. Sunday just sat about, all the money is spent on the forthcoming fireplace...

We finished the first two disks of and are waiting on the next ones being delivered too...

Technorati implement blog link tagging, it's a bit like del.icio.us I think, don't think it'll work for my blog posts, though I've marked up my and might rejig my links - that's all those internal links that don't seem to go anywhere. First I thought this was just to encourage people to link to technorati, but maybe it's benevolent. Here's theTechnorati Folkestone page...

evening pauly. so have you sorted much out for your WEDDING yet? have you considered letting someone else arrange it? basically just passing on a link to a friend's website - they've just started up a weddings company called weddings-r-us and i thought i would pass it on. although the company hasnt been about all that long they've had loads of experience doing stuff for other people.

i am currently suffering from withdrawal symptoms - it's been ages since the last engadget podcast :o(

oh, and did anyone object to your scaffolding?

It's so nice to have someone interested!

No objections to the scaffolding, I wrote a letter to the other people in the block, one of them passed it on to the chairman of the building, who lives next door. She emailed back to say no problem, and she'd used the same company to do her fireplace too. I met the scaffolder on Saturday, and to tie things in nicely we chatted about weddings... he's having 180 to his wedding and another 150 to the reception, which kind of dwarves ours. ANYWAY, cheers for the link, but the wedding plans are pretty far advanced now, and we have our own planner in Clare's mum.

Scaffolding should be up now, I wish there was a webcam pointing at the flat. Fireplace is being fitted tomorrow and I'm a bit nervous about how it'll turn out.

What you been up to then apart from getting free links for your friends websites? :-)

Also missing the Engadget podcast... I unsubscribed from all the others apart from Coverville.

not much really - been fairly busy at work in the world of law. been doing lots of commercial property law. also been spending a lot of time thinking about how to become that phil tyrone bloke off engagdet - curious to know if he looked like a total geek (i.e. something along the lines of michael moore) i looked on his website. on there he has a clip of his live/workspace and it's incredible. he has literally thousands and thousands of squids worth of kit in there. i wonder how he makes a living. anyway, so im always trying to think of a great new business idea - pref with a web-based bias - which could mean a more life-friendly lifestyle if u know wot i mean.

that aside, not much more than getting links for friends websites!

You have to come up with an idea

then it has to become popular, then you have to cash in on it at the right time. Easy eh? Best if you can find some way to exploit what you already do to, if you have to learn a new thing before you start your big venture, then you're starting at a disadvantage.
