No they are backward

Google SMS (Short Message Service) enables you to easily get precise answers to specialized queries from your mobile phone or device. Send your query as a text message and get phone book listings, dictionary definitions, product prices and more. Just text. No links. No web pages. Simply the answers you're looking to find.
Short message service is it? Thanks for that! Is SMS not huge in the US of States then? Don't think this google services works here yet... I've got a mobile phone now, did I say? Engadget says "unlike web searches which are somewhat anonymous, when you use Google SMS Google logs an encrypted version of the incoming phone number, the wireless carrier associated with the number, and the date and time of the transaction". So there you are.
I did write up my huge weekender, on the pocket pc on the train home. But I left it at home today and I'm not writing it all up again, so you'll have to hang on in there.
Kept awake all night by something scrabbling in the roof. I'd like to think it was something cute like squirrels or bats, rather than some more bastard mice.

let face it they have only barely discovered digital mobiles
Intresting that a Short Message isnt necessarily short anymore since you can take one SMS and daisy chain it to another one, and another and another
maybe it should be not-so-short message service

I have never known a yank to use SMS. When I asked several them why, they said its cheaper to actually ring the person (damn the UK) and SMS is only of use in exceptionally noisy night clubs. Bonkers I tell you!

You must remember that us British are shy, antisocial and easily embaressed. Therefor SMS is perfect for us - limited interaction, no need for a bumbling, Hugh Grant style conversation, just the hard facts in black and white.

I hadnt thought of that. But I do object to paying lots of money for something most countries get cheaper. Sometimes I despise living on this soggy island.
