Isn't folkestone south enough for you?!!!!

The new Lonely Planet guide to London calls us "Edgy" apparently... not picked it up myself (not sure it's out yet, that's an older version there) but the Evening Sub-standard have and they report on it here.
Camden and Islington are passé, but that really should have been in any mid nineties guidebook I suppose. Primrose Hill is bigged up alongside Stoke Newington, but I'm glad to be out of the former, it's just not like the real world at all. Really enjoying Farringdon still.
Inspector Sands, are you out there? What is your view of what I say on what they say about what others say about what are the nice bits of this town?

Stoke Newington? Edgy?
Hahahahahaahaha! Have they visited Harlesden lately? Or Peckham?
Mind you, I have only ever been to N16 about four times. Ever.
It's actually pointless trying to sum up bits of London like that. There's little bits to suit everyone. If you're new, you might like Camden until the novelty runs out. But you can't play one place off against the other, as the comparisons are almost always unfair.

*the* Zone 2 place at the moment is New Cross...it's the only place artists can afford to rent studio space any more. this is not a surprise as the place is dodge as fuck.
i always judge whether or not i like a place based on how many beer monsters i encounter on a night out. sadly, as soon as a few articles come out about 'x' place, they all flock lke sheep...i think hoxton square has been ruined by them :o(
anyway, my view is there isnt anywhere proper cool in london anymore, and it's all about breaking trends. i think it's time for camden to become fashionable again! i also think it's about time docklands got some proper character....it's better than it used to be, but on the main canary wharf development, it's still mainly chain bars/restaurants which is a shame. saying that, maybe anything more would be wasted on the soulless morons that work/live there.

I wish I'd bought there then, I'd be laughing now, kind of keen to go back south again...
