These new Google alerts are great... Why's it always The Scotsman who seem to get the news first though?

The Scotsman appears to publish most of the Press Association wire stories straight away - and it's PA which gets most stories first.

Dodgy situation for PA, of course, with its wire being all-but reproduced for free on the Scotsman site. You used to get a similar situation with Ananova when that started, as PA owned Ananova then.

You can get all the alerts you need from Google now... It is a bit of an odd situation, Surely something will come of it soon. Are the Scotsman the only ones to be doing this? Or just the fastest..?
