Do you want to sell your picture of the Pretty Things Trish?

I saw the Cream round about that time in a small club upstairs down Tontine street? Did Tofts move at any time cos I saw the Pretty Things there as well (also about that time?)
Les.

The Pretty Things are of course not to be confused with Carl Barat's new outfit The Dirty Pretty Things.

The club that was upstairs in Tontine Street, could either have been the Flamenco which was half way down the street or The Sundowners which was right at the end of Tontine Street on Dover Road

Yea, must have been the Flaminco then, it was half
way down Tontine st, It had a little Bar in it aswell,thanks Sal.

I hosted it on flickr.com:
Do you have a confirmed date for this gig yet? I bet you wrote it in your diary, or maybe it's on the back of the photo? Was it 1967?
pauly :: 30 Oct :: 2007 :: Comment / reply
I didn't write it down anywhere, but after a bit of research I think it's decided that the year was 1966.

Long time no speak! I tried to email, but the address I have bounced... Brice emailed me to say:
Hi Paul,
I'm 34 years old and I live in the south of France with my girlfriend and my daughter. I'm a big fan and collector of the PRETTY THINGS. I have more of 300 LPs, 300 singles/EPs, 400 CDs, more of 400 photos, magazine,..etc...
I see your 3 photos and I would like to know if you are interested to sell them. Maybe you have negatives. And I'm ready to pay a lot.
Please, I'm very interested so let me know.
Thanks
Best wishes,
Brice
I have no way to get in touch with them other than via Flickr though...

I've put the other pictures at the top of the forum, (search for Pretty Things pictures if you're arriving here much later) and you'll see them rotating on the site too.
Any more old pics you can find, please send them in, and if you're sister would link to folkestonegerald.com or folkestonegerald.com/history/ that would be just GREAT!
Thanks again for contributing...

Well, sort of helpful, it opens up more options and means I need to do more investigating... do you have any specific memories you like to share of either of those venues? See anyone good there?
pauly :: 25 Jan :: 2005 :: Comment / reply
from Bouverie Road West to Grace Hill I believe, though it may also have changed it's name when it moved to Grace Hill. Equally importantly though, I might have got that venue wrong, any idea of the name of the venue in Tontine Street? This is all before my time, I have cribbed this together from other websites. If you have any info you can send me, I'd really appreciate it, fg@folkestonegerald.com
The comments you've left so far will be saved on the Folkestone 1967 page, hopefully they'll stir someone elses memory...
Did you see Jimi Hendrix?

I do know that Tofts still was on Grace Hill in 1973 under this name. I was on an English course in Folkestone that year and never came back later. Toft's was one of our favourite haunts, although we mostly stuck to the girls from our English course, because they spoke fluent German.

The club was called Toffs after Harald Toff the owner later it was bought by people from Ashfords who renamed it Tofts (no conection)
