MJ Hibbett's Exciting Life In Rock press launch and things

Jul142008
Hello - this is a special mid-month version of the newsletter just to let you know about some RATHER Exciting New Things, these being our new single, the video to go with it, and the press launch for the Edinburgh Show. Let's GO!

THE NEW SINGLE

Our brand new single, "It Only Works Because You're Here" is officially released next Monday. It'll be available on Amazon and (theoretically) in SHOPS, but you can get it direct from our webpage right NOW by going here:

mjhibbett.net/releases/itonlyworksbecauseyourehere.htm

As well as the title track it's got two brand new b-sides, "Professional Competent Rocking And Tight" and "Sod It Let's Get Pissed", and a veritable GREATEST HITS of bonus tracks taken from the Edinburgh Show. It's a bargain!

THE NEW VIDEO

The rather smashing video for "It Only Works Because You're Here" is now on YouTube, HERE:

youtube.com/watch?v=naiJZWc_iDk

It's a photo story (or FUMETTI for those in the know) telling the story of the song and we're rather chuffed with it - see what you reckon and, if you like it, LINKS would be very much appreciated!

THE PRESS LAUNCH

Tonight in London it's the Press Launch for my Edinburgh Fringe show [google]My Exciting Life In ROCK[/google]. It's on at The Cross Kings on York Way, kicking off just after 7pm with a set from Mr Pete Green before I do the show in full.

It's four quid on the door and open to everyone who fancies it - there'll be BADGES afterwards and GOOD TIMES throughout, so please come along if you can!

All right then, that's more than enough for now - thanks for listening!
Cheers,
Mark
I must remember to buy tickets to his Ed show before they sell out.

Yes you must

AND you must report back here... Are you going to anything else of the festival, that you have planned yet? I thought you said before that you might avoid most of it. Have you thought about renting your place out for the week? I was listening to one of the Guardian podcasts and Stephen K Amos said he paid three grand for the week.

I love comedy, and festivals, I will have to get it together and go to it one year.

RE: Yes you must

I don't avoid it as such, I'm just usually too busy and it's gone before I realise what's going on. I'll make an extra special effort this year.

I've a few friends who currently rent out during the festival, or have in the past. They only get at most 1.5k for the month, but you might get more if you've got a swanky pad in the centre. Still, I'm not giving up my bed to some celebrity - God knows what they'd get up to in it...I'd just be jealous.

1.5k for the month? My mortgage is more than that!

Actually it's not, but it could conceivably be.

Yes I would think you need a proper "pad" in order to let it out for a decent amount of money, everyone must be on the make in the right parts of town.

Please help !!!! I live in the states, but I amdesperately trying to locate Carole, Penny, or Jim Webber who used to reside on eastern road in Portsmouth. It's been a few years, and the phone numbers I have are no longer valid. It is rathr urgent that I find them. Their father was Cyril Alonso Webber, and mum was named Mavis Mathilda Webber. If anyopne can help me find them, it would be greatly appreciated. I don't even mind paying you a bit for your troubles..as this is very urgent.
