Did you see Folkestone on TV last night?

The town looked nice on The Culture Show, I’m glad. That’s why I was looking up The Culture Show yesterday when I mentioned the Ricky Gervais stuff, to find out when this feature was on, must have got distracted before I found it or I’d have plugged it in advance. They’re after some of my pictures for their flickr group and I’ve agreed. They do not have any terms and conditions suggesting they can reuse my photos by doing so, so I think it’s OK. The Beeb were criticised before for their terms and conditions, these were from another bbc group:

By sharing any photos with this BBC Britain in Pictures group on Flickr you agree to grant free of charge to the BBC, for public service purposes only, permission to use the photos as proposed above, including the ability to modify (for operational reasons) and sub-licence this right (for public service purposes only), in accordance with the privacy restrictions set out in the BBC's Privacy Policy.

They don’t have these terms in this case, so they can’t use my photo, am I right?

An aside, Vic Reeves said on the show last night that he lived in Folkestone for two years, in a flat overlooking the sea. Some misspeaking there I think, I believe he lived in the huge house opposite our flat on Earls Avenue. He would know better than I, he moved out before we moved in, but Clare’s aunt and uncle were his next door neighbour at this time.

See that episode of the Culture Show on BBC iPlayer right now!
