Apart from and (reviewed and to be reviewed on Folkestone RestauRANTS, this weekend I also enjoyed a walk from to via , mostly along the sea front, there's something you don't get in ... lots of interesting houses and other buildings on the way, stopped in a couple of nice pubs, and saw some lovely , photos to follow...

We also had a trip out to - it's a crazy place, a bit spooky, it seems like a big american desert community, like Roswell or something. There are some fascinating houses around there, and a real feeling of space. There's a big lighthouse, a miniature railway that runs all the way to , and obviously a massive nuclear power station. More details at www.dungeness.com, next time we go there we'll get the little steam train there from .

We had a TURD of a meal on the way to , somewhere in (though there is confusingly a pub of the same name in , have to get this right), will find out the name of the place, and attempt to do it proper injustice with a review.

As I say, pictures to follow, got to run now.

wow..it's been ages since ive been there. did u see any three eyed fish down dungeness? it's one of those rather shitty parts of kent (like herne bay and ramsgate and margate) that i prefer to think doesnt exist.

I like Hythe...i was upset when they improved the sea walls cos there was nowt better than hitting a chippie and going to watch the tidal waves crashing into people's front doors.

dymchurch is a funny old place. dont have any anecdotes related to dymchurch although i have travelled on said railway.

was cool I thought, very peaceful and spacious. Whether that's because the only people still there are dead from radiation poisoning, I wouldn't like to say. We saw some cool houses there, and this excellent 1950s style American trailer thing, a kind of silver rounded "slipstream" type caravan with no windows... looked very dated, but futuristic at the same time.

Looking forward to going back there and having more of a walk around, and going in the pub, I think.

there's something different about it.

have you been to st margaret's bay? i remember being a young lad and slipping on the rock pools and falling in the water and stuff.

also, one of the good things about dungeness way is that they have sandy beaches - st mary's bay being point in case. it's quite a good beach actually.
