Anyone know where / what the "Mayfield Suite" was? It's a venue of some kind, Gene Loves Jezebel played there once... what is it known as now?
And while I'm about it, what is "The Elizabethan"? It's on Sandgate Road and looks like it's been shut forever...

I remember seeing Gene Loves Jezebel at the Stour Centre in Ashford I think The Mayfield Suite was a room there, posssibly, the dates kind of fit.

I came to Folkestone in 1985 and it was shut then (the Elizabethan, not Folkestone - but there again....) I think it was once a steak house, there was a ratty menu up once.

It's not exactly a prime location right now, but hopefully something will reopen one day... twenty years though, that's crazy.

I lived in Folkestone until 1980 and if memory serves, this restaurant is virtually next to the East Kent pub (is that still there?). Anyway, I took my girlfriend there for prawn cocktail, steak and chips and black forest gateau.
