Father George trampled to death by a horse, brothers Walter and Frederick placed in the care of two maiden aunts both schoolmistresses in the village of Litchfield, England, sister Winifred lost a leg as a young girl. His Uncle Tom Tom was a Hampshire professional cricket player buried in Ecchinswell churchyard. The three brothers went to King Edward V1 School founded in 1553. Walter married Kit, they lived in Fareham in Hampshire. My grandfather had three children, Daphne, Anthony, and Fay. He lived to be 100 and his grandmother was a 104 when she died. Am I connected to your family?

My grandfather was George Richmond Samways. Who was it who died on the Titantic I'd heard it was an uncle of my grandfather? I am Sandra Tribe, my mother was Daphne Tribe,father Kenneth Henry Joseph Tribe.

It was Charles Valentine Clarke died on the Titanic

Here's Charles Clarke, his wife Ada Maria Clarke (nee Winfield) survived the sinking. Charles was born February 14th (hence the middle name) 1883 in Cosham, Hants. His paternal grandparents were James Cole Clarke (1824 - 1865) and Sarah Tribe (1824 - 1887), they're my great great grandparents.

Starting to sound like there might be a connection, we don't have a great deal on the Tribes. Do you have any more dates and places of birth on any of your ancestors? Could be just a coincidence though, the only connection we have between Tribe and Samways is that they're each grandparents of my paternal grandfather Ronald Leslie Clarke.

I'm sorry I don't really have anything much useful to say but...I'm just amazed. I'm Sarah Samways. I just googled myself out of sheer boredom and here we see all you folks out there searching for Samwayses. This is insane.

hello i also googled my surname and found this website. it is interesrting to see a few samways's from the south, my family originate from havant in hampshire. my father is peter samways, my grandfather rene samways and there are many more.

That sounds super complex, but some important details missing

One of the first details I'd look for is date of birth, whether or not they were trampled to death by a horse comes a bit further down the list...
