Fairly action packed weekend for me really, surprise meal for Clare's folks for their ruby wedding on Friday, we went to The Jackdaw. I had exotic mushroom paella, it was a bit dull really but a nice night out anyway. Most other people loved their food I think, though the vege options do tend to be not quite as interesting as they look on the menu, perhaps the menu there is just too big. Lots of Irish people (in our party), singing, we emptied the restaurant I think and probably can't go back there for a while.
Saturday, lunch in Canterbury at Pizza Express, then watched the rugby in the Brewery Tavern, great game and fantastic result. Then back for a wedding reception at Hythe Imperial, where I met Pandora Peroxide, the real one, ex girlfriend of artist Ray Zell and sister of a friend of a friend. No food at the reception, so we went to the kebab shop on the way home, a particular rare occurence that one.
Sunday driving the outlaws to Gatwick, so we stopped in and had another Pizza Express. I quite like Pizza Express.
More rugby last night, bad luck the Scotchland.

Just a thought, so bare with me on this one.
Reading your most recent post, I got to thinking about comments. Now someone may have already done this, but I got to thinking about the process of having to go to a comments page to make a tiny comment. Then I thought about how people comment on picture sites such as Flickr - where they highlight an area and put words to the picture.
So the concept of inline comments started to form. What if I just wanted to comment on a small part of your post, such as the Irish people singing? I could just highlight your text, right click, select "Comment" and type in a small comment. Then you could have a transparent box over that text that shows the comment as a tooltip when the user puts the mouse over it.
Now you're much better than I would be at bashing together some cheeky JavaScript, so I'll leave that to you. It was just a thought....

I might have a go at doing that, cheers...
How would people comment on comments, would that work? I probably do need easier commenting in here anyway, whether I do it like that or not.
Do you really have something to comment about irish people singing?

Being Irish, I do have something to comment on Irish people singing. Mainly around the fact that Irish people are great, and their singing can only enhance the party atmosphere etc.
Commenting on comments is an interesting one and an issue that I did consider but didn't resolve. It would only be used for small comments, might just need to see what happens.

I'm not Irish at all, the wife is on her Dad's side, and some of their friends are who were out. Chief knower-of-all-the-songs is actually Scottish, but he sings like an Irish... Then again there's probably a lot of crossover, I always think of Green Fields Of France as being an Irish song, but it's really Scottish isn't it?
My contribution to the singing was "Seven Drunken Nights", though I mumbled my way through most of that...
