Hey London tube travellers, Here's a song for you. Only listen to it if you like lots and lots of swearing, and weak b3ta style graphics over a tune you've heard before mind. I'm not really that arsed about the tube strike today as, HEY, I'm well out of , but a good friend pointed out that striking over things including pensions these days only draws attention to the fact that you HAVE a pension, not so many people do these days. I just started a contributary one six months ago, far too late for it to be paying me out any significant amount of money ever. I'm going to have to rely on keeping my livers in good condition and selling one of them when the time comes.

In other transport news, COOL, Eurostar smashes a speed record, yes on the English side of the tracks. We will not actually ever be travelling by from to London, and in face things could start to get a bit less convenient down this way if they're really going to scrap services from to , but faster tracks between here and London are part of the plan to reduce our commuting time. One BR employee told the wife this week it would be thirty something minutes from to . A mistake on his part, almost certainly, but if it goes down to an hour, that's nice.

I say "our" commuting times, I don't actually mean mine, obviously.

Hey I still haven't written up our trip to yet.

Working in a bank we have quite a nice pension, although it isn't one of those magical final salary pensions that the public sector get.

That said, I leave here on Friday so no more nice pension contributions.

Having troubles posting for some reason, you might get multiple versions of this one.

I'm being dull and heading back to the IT consultancy I used to work for. We're going to start providing Rich Internet Application consultancy in conjuction with Adobe Consulting. So it's going to be lots of Flash and Macromedia stuff, a big change from my current Microsoft .NET centered life. But the good news is that Flash is built on ActionScript which is itself modeled on JavaScript, which as we all know is the greatest language ever.

Yeah, the more you get to do the better, but I'm not into , like I'm not into ...

Going back to where you used to work is COOL, have you had a step up in pay or is it for enjoyment or some other reason?

Hmm, by "non standard" I mean "non open" of course.

Bah, Open Source just means fixing someone else's bugs :)

Going back isn't quite so cool in this instance. Step up in pay and experience, step down in fun and people. But, I suppose it has to be done, I'm not doing this for the love.

Did something go wrong at the new job or are you just following the money?

Nothing went wrong, far from it. I've really enjoyed working here and the people are great (really unusual for a bank). I'm just seeking new challenges elsewhere - and this is going to be a huge challenge. Oh, and following the money....
