RE: clarkes in USA and Canada

I am descended from two branches of Clarkes--one, William Clarke, left the Nottingham area (he had previously been a lacemaker in Calais) for Canada in 1845. I've got lots of information on that branch. The other, Florence Clarke, left the Haggerston area of greater london in 1919 for Canada. I've less information on that side. Her father was a gilder. Any information appreciated.

Hi David,
Sorry have not traced any Clarke's to london or Nottingham as of yet. The only Clarke that went to the USA never made it. That was Charles Valentine who was lost on the Titanic.
