Ha, in series one, episode five of Lost apparently Charlie says that he can't swim. This is not a continuity error, this is PROOF that they are not really on an island, they're really in a virtual reality game on board Red Dwarf.
A fairly poor episode this week I thought (of Lost, not the other). Normally I like the ep's with UK based flashbacks, but the accents kept slipping in this one, I guess the people who play Charlie's family were American.
Fairly poor right until the end, of course. Annoyingly I'm aching for the next episode again. Only one more left this season I think, it's all about next week.

How does his inability to swim prove the are in an alternate reality? I haven't watched the show past the first series.....

And who on earth would admit to that?

My plan is to wait until it's all over and watch them all back-to-back. Although now that they say it'll run for years, I might watch them all up to the end of the current series now, then take a break.
Surely they can't keep it interesting for that long anyway, it'll just delve even deeper into the absurd in a desperate attempt to keep people watching - as 24 has. The last series will be worth it though, I hope....

I'm not expecting an entirely satisfying conclusion to it, so it might be best to watch it now when you're not sure what's coming next. Series three ends this week I think.
