So says the BBC, the new security measures and pre-registration mean no Glastonbury tickets on ebay, nor on any of the other online ticket touts.
In other music news today, EMI are to remove DRM from MP3s, you know what those TLAs mean if you need to.

Lovin the snap previews!
They are charging more for non-drm'd music - I don't know why higher bit-rate means they should be more expensive.
Money grabbing gits.

I think their argument would be "to cover the inevitable piracy" but I'm with you - the less the charge for tracks the less people would bother to pirate them. If they can get down to somewhere between 15-30p per track they'd make a mint. Why would people download some dodgy bitrate mp3/aac youtube rip off e.g. Soulseek or Gnutella when for stupidly low money they could get a great copy from an official source and not spend half their life looking over their shoulder?
I've always wondered if there was an argument for the police to spot check iPods for tracks. Don't suppose average plod would know what to do with one though?

It's not just average plod, I'm not sure how anyone would be able to look at my IPOD and be able to tell which tracks I'd ripped myself and which ones I'd downloaded (except for the ones that say "rIpP3d 3y sUp3rh4x0r" in the ID3 comment tag).
I'm not sure about those Snap preview popups, I really liked my old popups, I might make my own hybrid version. I know there's an open source web page thumbnail generator out there somewhere...
