Someone on flickr.com recommended geosetter, which seems to have done the trick so far. Will try www.jetphotosoft.com too, see which one works most smoothly... geosetter automatically tags images with the looked up name of the town and country nearest to your location, so my holiday photos are automatically tagged Lazio, Roma, etc...

Also there's an xml feed of in a flickr set, a JSON feed , search my in a flickr set venue info, in a flickr set on Your Folkestone.
