I hope it's a top one. Sultans of Ping eh? Not heard of them in a while, I am jealous! Saw The Fall at Ashton Court festival a couple of weeks ago.. they were nothing much to write home about though. Much shambling about stage, random turning up of guitars to 11 and singing into 2 microphones (when one was more than adequate) - and that was just Mark E Smith. The rest of the band were really tight though, as one might expect after a reputed 57 lineup changes ! Oh well, he was probably pissed. Kid Carpet was the high point earlier in the day and was very entertaining with sampler based sillyness constructed from sampling & bending the sound from electronic kids toys whilst singing over the top. Oh and sampling choices phrases from the local radio station was a definate crowd pleaser !

It's a crying shame that after many many years of exceptionally hard work by the organisers the festival has ended up finally folding anyway. Ah, Bristol Community Festival - I salute you ! Gone but not forgotten.

tonight at , looking forward to this, haven't seen them play since the Barfly Music Passport show, this'll be only the third time this year... really wanted to see them again, couldn't face going to Wembley, so was pleased when this show came up. It's a bit odd that it's a warmup, and it's just about the biggest venue they've headlined, but they're a proper stadium act now. They make me so proud...

Enjoyed The Daily Sourcecode, it's good to hear an international being enthusiastic about UK things, he's been raving about our mobile phones and shops and things.

Still working on some systems for the company, and have fallen into the trap again of starting a new project before signing off the old one, and now the two have merged and become a super project that it's going to be twice as hard to get shot of... it's actually more than two things for more than one company mixed together, nightmare... at least popex is running smoothly (if slowly).

Looking forward to my weekend away... got some stuff to sort out in this weekend, finally got to order the blinds (while I still have some money) and have to order the fireplace today... have been hanging on hoping for a cheaper quote for scaffolding up the side of the building to drop a chimney liner in... it's a big building and there's no other way to do it so it looks like it's going to cost A GRAND. Could do without that, but it seems there's no way. Someone think of a way for me to make some extra money in a hurry - my best idea so far is not buying myself a new computer right now, I can manage without it for a while, and the fireplace is holding up the rest of the flat...

Lots on at work today, and got too much queued up for Monday already. are finally ditching my calendar system and getting someone new in to make something new. I will be watching this closely, though I don't think I'll be able to learn anything useful easily from this, it's to be done in ASP.

Updated (or rather downdated) my to 0.92 as won't accept enclosures in 2.0, or at least it won't in the version installed here...

Heading off to Folkestone any minute, got some friends coming down and going to check out a new bar / restaurant... oh just got a quote by SMS of 950 quid plus vat to put scaffolding up the side of the flat! I don't think so, getting another quote now...
