The Point Hotel, Edinburgh.

I was having a few beers in the Point last Friday. Before we left, I went to the loo and when I came back our table had been claimed by 3 middle aged women. I went to retrieve my bag and it took me a few seconds to realise that the nice woman who passed it to me was unfunny Glaswegian comedienne Elaine C Smith.

More Huckles

Hi Pauly:

I found a request on your website for information on Huckles from Texas. I was not able to get the registration page to load, so I am emailing you.

I am married to a Huckle from Texas. His name is Mark Huckle, born 1957 in Pasadena, Texas. His parents were Fred Anton Huckle (born 1901 I think), and Opal Pittman. Fred Huckle was from Karnes City Texas, but I'm not sure if he was born there. Fred had a brother named Tony Huckle, and his wife, Erna Huckle, and daughter Shirley Huckle, live in San Antonio, TX.

My husband has a brother, Gerald Huckle (1944?), of Naples Florida, and a sister, Carolyn Huckle (1946?), who lives in Austin, TX.

Not much is known about the Huckles--they never talked about the family history, and now most of them are gone. I was told the Huckles came from Germany, but I have never found any records to support that.

Our family: Mark Dwayne Huckle married Susan Elaine Fizzell 1980. We have three sons, Andrew Fredrick (1981), James Stephen (1986), and Colin Jacob (1990). Andrew Fredrick Huckle married Kristin Ireland (2006). We all live in the Dallas, Texas area.

If anyone has information on this branch of the Huckle family tree, I would like to hear from you.

Susan Huckle

No connection to our family as far as I can see, if you can help, please email mnsh80@gmail.com

The Britannia pub bar booze :: [comment] :: [delete]

During our holidays in Dungeness,we went to both Britannia Inn & Pilot for a meal. To be honest, Britannia Inn was far much better in terms of food and atmosphere. The fish was lovely. The staff were polite and friendly. For sure, we will go back next year.
