Was as we expected, maybe hotter, certainly smellier than I would have liked. We spent the evening secretly wishing they would play some songs that we knew - not necessarily Darkness songs, but maybe some cheeky covers, tipping their hat to their references. Didn't quite get that. Apart from the free mp3 download "Heroes", the first song that stood out was "The Power Of Love". Then next came "The Power Of Love". Yes, the Jennifer Rush version then the Huey Lewis song of that name. Then (maybe not right then, we had slipped back into the stables bar area by this point) a costume change, and "I Believe In A Thing Called Love".
Was a good gig, good to be there with friends, and meet up with more friends, some of whom we'd not seen since The Darkness were a force to be reckoned with.
Not the best gig ever, but a good gig, and the best for a while.

Forgot to mention last night when I first posted this (what on earth was I doing posting, why did I not go straight to bed), Naboo the Enigma was also at the gig.

They is going to be on TV again... the down side is you have to go to West London :(
The Darkness, among other acts, will be performing in London on Friday 4 April (tomorrow) for a TV show called RE:COVERED and we have some FREE tickets to offer.
The recording will be taking place in Hammersmith between 5pm and 8pm and all guests need to be 18+ years as there is a bar on the premises. Transport is not provided so applicants will need to make their own way there.

Justin Hawkins' new band, back on the more intimate circuit...
Hot Leg tonight at Proud Galleries, Camden, That London. Bit concerned about it really, got to leg it out of work at a pretty busy time for us, lots on at the moment. Leaving a little early anyway, train to London, hurriedly catch up with friends that I haven't seen for a year or so, AND watch the hottest Man Rock band of the moment, leave the gig early and run for the 11pm train to get home again. It could all go horribly wrong.
Not sure how hot it's going to be actually, it's not sold out. Support comes from Saving Aimee.

The video looks like it's made for American children's TV, and their official site seems to be on www.bebo.com, hmm. Will be good to catch up with friends and relive past glories anyway.
