Rail travel from Silver Street.
Silver Street has cctv
Airports by rail, with Holiday Extras, who I work for. I am not making a commission on this (damn).
To take benefit of these prices you will need to prove you are not a business traveller, en route to the airport, so you will need to give either yr flight details or your holiday booking reference. I don't think you will need to provide this when you arrive at silver-street station but you may be asked to provide them on yr travels from silver-street station to the airport.
Going to the airport on the train is great, you can sleep, read (even at night), play a game, or just gaze out of the window... The other restriction to buying these cheap tickets from silver-street station to the airport is that there must be at least two grown ups travelling together. But another great advantage is that children go free. All kids under five go free, and then one child over five but under sixteen per adult travelling on the train to the airport.
make sure you leave plenty of time to get to the airport early enough to eat, shop etc, so check the times of trains from silver-street station before you go. If you have spare time at the airport you can always read a book or play travel scrabble again! As you have bought yr train ticket in advance, you don't need to worry about the opening hours of silver-street station.
silver-street station opening times: Monday-Friday 06:30-13:40, Saturday 06:30-13:40, Sunday Closed..
You can get a train tickets this way from silver-street station to Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Newcastle. Holiday Extras don't sell train tickets from silver-street station to Heathrow and some other airports, because you can't get one ticket to get you all the way there, boo! Damn you Heathrow Express!
