Stansted, Stansted Airport, Round Coppice Road, Stansted, Essex, CM24 1SF.

Airports by rail, with Holiday Extras, who I work for. I am not making a commission on this (damn).

To take benefit of these prices you will need to prove you are a leisure traveller, on the way to stansted airport, so you will need to provide either your flight details or your holiday booking reference. I don't think you will need to provide this when you arrive at lancaster station but you may be asked to provide them on your journey from lancaster station to the airport.

Going to the airport by train is great, you can sleep, read a book (even at night), play travel scrabble, or just gaze out of the window... The other restriction to buying these inexpensive tickets from lancaster station to the airport is that there must be at least two grown ups travelling together. But another great advantage is that children go free. All children under five go free, and then one kidover 5 but under sixteen per grown up travelling on the train to stansted airport.

make sure you leave enough time to get to the airport early enough to eat, shop etc, so check the times of trains from the station before you go. If you end up with spare time at the airport you can always read a book or play travel scrabble again! As you have bought yr ticket in advance, you don't need to worry about the opening hours of the station.

the station opening times: Monday-Saturday 04:15-23:45, Sunday 08:00-00:00, Monday-Friday 04:50-00:00, Saturday 04:50-00:00, .
