Glasgow International, Glasgow Airport, Abbotsinch, Paisley, Renfrewshire, PA3 2ST .

Airports by rail, with Holiday Extras, who I work for. I am not making a commission on this (damn).

To take advantage of the best prices you will need to prove you are not a business traveller, on the way to glasgow-international airport, so you will need to provide either your flight numbers or yr holiday booking reference. I don't think you will need to provide this when you arrive at irvine station but you may be asked to give them on yr journey from the station to the airport.

Going to the airport on the train is great, you can sleep, read a book (even at night), play travel scrabble, or just gaze out of the window... The other restriction to buying these inexpensive tickets from irvine station to glasgow-international airport is that there must be at least two adults travelling together. But another great benefit is that children go free. All children under five go free, and then one child over 5 but under sixteen per adult travelling by train to the airport.

make sure you leave plenty of time to get to the airport early enough to eat, shop and so on, so check the times of trains from the station before you go. If you have spare time at glasgow-international airport you can always read a book or play travel scrabble again! As you have bought yr train ticket in advance, you don't need to worry about the opening times of the station.

the station opening hours: Monday-Saturday 06:00-22:50, Sunday 09:05-18:25, Monday-Friday 06:10-22:40, Saturday 06:10-22:40, .
