Stansted, Stansted Airport, Round Coppice Road, Stansted, Essex, CM24 1SF.

Airports by rail, with Holiday Extras, who I work for. I am not making a commission on this (damn).

To take benefit of the best prices you will need to prove you are not a business traveller, on the way to stansted airport, so you will need to provide either your flight details or yr holiday booking reference. I don't think you will need to give this when you arrive at the station but you may be asked to give them on your journey from the station to stansted airport.

Going to the airport on the train is great, you can take a nap, read (even at night), play travel scrabble, or just gaze out of the window... The other restriction to buying these inexpensive train tickets from the station to the airport is that there must be at least two adults travelling together. But another great advantage is that children go free. All children under five go free, and then one kidover five but under sixteen per adult travelling by train to stansted airport.

make sure you leave plenty of time to get to the airport early enough to eat, shop etc, so check the times of trains from forest-hill station before you go. If you end up with time to kill at stansted airport you can always read a book or play a game again! As you have bought yr train ticket in advance, you don't need to worry about the opening times of the station.

forest-hill station opening hours: Monday-Friday 06:10-20:50, Saturday 06:40-21:15, Sunday 07:10-21:45, .
