More Terry Pratchett

That signed copy of Nation is riding high at over a hundred quid today. Just having a browse around ABE Books at more Terry Pratchett, someone's selling an ex-library copy of The Light Fantastic for £500, that's what I've got. Nice to have an original hardcover with the dust jacket and it looks right on the shelf, but without the library stamps in it this one's up for over 1700. I didn't steal it from a library, I bought it second hand in Southsea a long time ago.

Plenty more good browsing here, and I can earn a commission if you actually buy anything.

I see not only that there's a new Terry Pratchett book out, but that Amazon have changed their URLs, so they now have the author and title at the beginning of them... this is GOOD for them, for getting a page listed higher in some search engines etc, but it's BAD for me as now I have to rewrite my code that slips my affilliate link into such things.

On the subject of such things, I'm off to check Terry Pratchett on ebay, I have a load of his books in hardback, some first editions, and some signed copies and stuff. I get the feeling that unsigned copies of his books are rarer than signed copies though. Also while I'm posting about books, that reminds me I need to sort out another affilliate deal - I found someone selling something that I want, for a lot of money, and if I want it, then you might want it too. OR,if I post about it often enough here, someone might stumble this way who wanted it anyway. Either way I might be able to earn a commission.

More job news as it comes in (got a second interview, my little holiday could be coming to an end), and my write up of coming very soon too.

UPDATE: And we're done on the link, it's to abebooks.co.uk - find more than 80 million out-of-print books worldwide... I have been after a copy of Faust illustrated by Harry Clarke for a while, and they have some first editions on there - at nearly three grand though. Don't buy one of those, I think I can only get commission on books valued under 500...

I see lots of signed first edition Terry Pratchett books, at asking prices over a hundred quid, a few of those I have too. Not actually getting excited about this though, as I don't see any bids on any of them. Off to check ABE Books for more of the same...

Who was that clown on the train this morning - was it you? He was muttering to himself when there was no-one to talk to, and as soon as anyone sat near him hi gibbered and chattered and got them talking too... this disturbed my sleep. If you're on the train again tomorrow, I might have to kill you.

Weekend, nice, mostly lazy though. Amazingly I've done not much more than watch TV for the last 72 hours, and yet saw no . The darts was exciting, has heralded in a new new era of young and thin darts players? Also watched and enjoyed (thought it clashed a bit) Johnny and the Bomb, an adaptation of a children's book. Just finished reading his latest too Thud. Didn't like it as first, seemed like some pretty slack racial stereotyping to me, but by the end it all comes around. Now onto the new Raymoned Feist, which I also got for Christmas.

Broke parts of the site earlier, by trying to block people who are spamming the gig listings with links to unrelated sites. Getting back on my feet now though!

Distractions for the day are this streaming media device, could be watching movies / TV direct from the PC, like a cheapo version of the media centre. That reminds me, got a new episode of to watch tonight, and also the very last episode of . We've both really enjoyed that and will be getting Serenity. Also currently watching The Mighty Boosh (ace) and Charmed (less so).
