Blog2019 ≫ Would I recommend the IKEA Symfonisk lamps..?

I do like the new Symfonisk speaker lamps. I've set them up as a pair now, so they act as stereo speakers and the sound is good and they look good. Clare did not immediately fall in love with them, but I am still alive so that's a better outcome than I had suspected.

Can I say "Hey Google, play KISS in the living room" like I expected though? No I cannot.

I can say this to play my music in other rooms in the house, as the existing Google Home and new new "Nest" Google Home Hub can do it. I can also use my phone to play my music on the new living room speakers, and I can use the voice control to say "skip this track" "turn the volume up" etc. I just can't instigate new music on the new speakers by voice. It is a problem other people have had1 and as Google Assistant is quite new to Sonos I hope it is just a bug that will be fixed.

Would I recommend these new speaker lamps? I am thinking at the moment I should have got two Sonos One speakers and kept the original lamps, but I think it will all settle down and they will be good in the long run. Next stop the Sonos sound bar, then get rid of the existing surround sound system.

I bought some new books and a carry case for the Nintendo Switch for the boys this week on the amazon and got yet another free trial of Amazon Prime. Yes I used it again to buy some batteries with free next day delivery, but no there is still nothing to watch on amazon prime video... One day I will forget to cancel one of these free trials and I'll be in it for £70 for the year. But hopefully not this time.

Peugeot is going in for a service today.
