Blog2019 ≫ This blog will now be updated even when I am not here...

I successfully moved the automated run stats posts from my laptop to one of my raspberry pis (raspberries pi?) in the house. The stats were obviously being generated automatically each day based on my Fitbit activities, but they were just being popped into a folder for me to post next time I got round to writing something. Now they'll appear, probably once a day, even if I don't go near a computer. It means some of the other automated things should get published too, like the chart of thing what we have been listening to over there 👉 and things like the vinyl collection. Not that the vinyl collection changes very often.

Now all I need to do is autogenerate something saying "kids doing well at school, work is going ok, ate a vegan thing, watched some tv, the beetle is not quite back on the road yet" I can back away from this blog completely.

On the subject of the vinyl, I will improve that section to add in some estimated value to them. That's where I came in but it's just a job I never finished.

Oh I wrote my first metalsmith plugins for this site. It was easy! Metalsmith is what I use to build this site1, it basically mashes content and templates and builds the site. I wanted a way to add comments to posts without them appearing on the site, so had a go at my first one. Pleased with how easy it was.

Clare is at pump class, so I have a relaxing morning, maybe a go on the treadmill, then we are going for a walk at Folkestone Warren this afternoon.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
